Chapter & Vines respects your privacy and handles personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

1. Who we are
Chapter & Vines is an Irish literary membership, book and events business. Chapter & Vines is the data controller for information collected through this website.

2. Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, billing and delivery details, order and membership information, preferences, communications with us, and website usage data. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.

3. How we use information
We use personal data to process orders and memberships, deliver products and services, manage events, respond to enquiries, improve the website, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.

4. Sharing and storage
We do not sell personal data. We share it only where necessary with trusted service providers such as Wix, payment processors, delivery providers and analytics services, or where required by law. We take reasonable steps to keep information secure and retain it only for as long as necessary.

5. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or receive a copy of your data. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.

6. Cookies
The cookie banner lets you accept, reject or manage non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are used where needed for the website to function.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Our services
Chapter & Vines offers 12-month literary memberships, books, Blind Date editions, events and related products. The description shown on the relevant product, plan or event page forms part of your purchase.

2. Twelve-month memberships
Memberships run for 12 months. The price shown for the chosen plan is charged as one annual payment at checkout unless the plan page clearly states otherwise.

A membership will renew only where the checkout or plan page clearly says that automatic renewal applies. You may switch off a future renewal through your account or by contacting us. Cancelling renewal does not end the current 12-month term or create an automatic refund for the unused part of that term.

This membership cancellation rule is separate from statutory consumer cancellation and refund rights, which are explained below.

3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euro and include applicable taxes where required. Delivery charges, where applicable, are displayed before payment. We may change prices for future purchases or renewals, but will not change the price of a completed order.

4. Membership fulfilment
What is included in each membership is stated on the plan page. Membership benefits and products are supplied across the 12-month term. Dispatch timing may vary according to the plan, book availability and the delivery schedule communicated to members.

5. Availability and substitutions
Products and event places are subject to availability. If a planned extra is unavailable, we may offer a reasonable substitute of equal or greater value. We will not substitute the main book or materially change a purchase without contacting you where required.

6. Events
Event details, accessibility information, capacity and any event-specific cancellation terms are shown on the relevant booking page. Dated leisure events do not normally carry the standard 14-day withdrawal right. This does not affect your rights if an event is cancelled, materially changed or not provided as agreed.

7. Intellectual property
Website text, branding and original materials belong to Chapter & Vines or their respective rights holders and may not be copied or reused without permission. Authors retain ownership of their writing unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.

8. Legal rights and liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded. We are responsible for providing goods and services as agreed and with reasonable care and skill. These terms are governed by Irish law.

SHIPPING POLICY

Membership items are dispatched according to the schedule stated for the plan. Other products are dispatched within the timeframe shown on the product or checkout page. Delivery areas and charges are displayed at checkout.

Delivery estimates are not guaranteed postal deadlines. If an order is delayed, lost or arrives damaged, contact louise@chapterandvines.com and we will investigate and provide the remedy required by law.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

1. Change-of-mind returns for goods
For most goods bought online, you may notify us within 14 days of receiving them that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return them. Items should be handled only as much as needed to inspect them and returned safely.

Unless the item is faulty, incorrect or otherwise not as agreed, you are responsible for the direct return cost. We will refund the qualifying purchase price and the standard delivery charge, where applicable, within the legal timeframe. We may reduce a refund if handling has unnecessarily reduced the item's value.

Some legal exceptions apply, including certain personalised, perishable or sealed items once unsealed. We will explain any relevant exception before purchase where required.

2. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Your statutory rights apply. Contact us as soon as possible with the order details and, where helpful, photographs. We will arrange an appropriate repair, replacement, price reduction or refund as required by law. A 48-hour reporting request does not remove your legal rights.

3. Membership products already dispatched
A dispatched membership item is treated in line with the returns rules above. Cancelling a future renewal does not cancel items or benefits already due under the current 12-month membership.

CANCELLATION POLICY

1. Statutory cancellation rights
For a 12-month membership bought online, you will normally have 14 days from entering the contract to tell us that you wish to withdraw. If you expressly asked us to begin providing services or benefits during that period, a proportionate charge may apply for what was supplied before cancellation. If goods have already been sent, the returns process above also applies.

These statutory rights are separate from cancelling an annual renewal.

2. Cancelling membership renewal
You may switch off a future renewal through your account or by emailing us. This prevents a further annual term from starting. It does not retrospectively cancel the current 12-month term.

After the statutory withdrawal period, a fixed 12-month membership is not normally refundable simply because you change your mind. This does not affect remedies available where goods or services are faulty, not supplied, materially different from their description or otherwise not provided as agreed.

3. Orders and events
Product orders and dated events follow the specific returns and event terms described above and on the relevant booking page.

ACCESSIBILITY

We aim to make the website and our services accessible. The Dublin salon has stair access, and relevant accessibility information will be included on event pages. Contact us before booking if you need further information or reasonable assistance.
