The Wonder is a historical novel set in nineteenth-century Ireland where a young girl claims to have survived without food for months. A nurse is sent to observe her, determined to uncover whether the phenomenon is miracle, fraud, or something more complex.
Emma Donoghue creates a tense and atmospheric story that explores faith, science, and the power of belief.
